Meet James and Mary-Ann. In early April they hosted a casual, relaxed and awesomely DIY lunch wedding at the beautiful Henzell’s Chapel in Mt Pleasant near Dayboro. The day started out amazingly, we couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque venue; the weather was perfect for photography and the country setting was so eclectically gorgeous! All the necessary ingredients were there for a magical wedding, and it was indeed just that. Their intimate ceremony was so moving, you could feel the love and happiness emanating from these two.

Their lunch reception was held at the Mt Pleasant Community Hall, an original timer building filled with DIY decorations and styling from the bride. From the Vintage doily’s and decorative crockery to the handmade origami flowers, everything suited James and Mary-Ann to a T.

I have to say Tara and I loved getting out of the city and into the countryside for this wedding. There seemed to be so much character everywhere on this established property. Henzell’s Chapel was actually built for the daughter of the Henzell’s. It is a  sweet little stone chapel on private land that the family had built for their daughter to get married in years ago.
